Herman West believes that every child in every school deserves access to an excellent education. Education leaders and parents must be empowered to oversee that every school is held accountable for effectively teaching students. Our educational system must provide open opportunities for each and every student. We believe in an "English First" approach to education. Programs that divide students whose first language is not English prevents them from becoming accustomed to mainstream American classrooms and culture. Inherently this limits a student's ability to advance in society. Educational opportunities must depend on each individual student's talent and motivation, and not where they live or their income level.
